Welcome to the South Carolina Chapter of the 173d Airborne Brigade Association website, dedicated to Sky Soldier members past and present and support services associated with the Sky Soldiers! Anyone within proximity from adjoining states is welcome. We are proud of our airborne heritage and wish to connect with like-minded military members past and present.

To join our membership, there is an application form at the bottom of the MEMBERS tab that you can print, fill out and mail to us. Follow instructions on the form.

We have monthly meetings typically in Columbia SC at Fatz Café, 5590 Forest Drive near Fort Jackson. On occasion we will move our meeting location and we have an annual picnic, so check the UPCOMING EVENTS sidebar or click on the CALENDAR tab for up-to-date information.

AIRBORNE ALL THE WAY!

History

Chapter 30 of the 173d Airborne Brigade Association began in July 2004 at the annual Brigade Reunion in Florida. Eddie Hair stood up and asked then association president Paul Dinardo if a South Carolina chapter could be formed. Within 5-10 minutes at least 10 Sky Soldiers from South Carolina and Georgia approached Eddie, giving us the necessary members to start our chapter.

Founding members:

Charles Adams Jesse Beacham
James Condon Jr. Jim “Top” Dresser
Johnny Graham Eddie Hair
Tom Hanson David Haynes
Chaplain Larry Kelly Willie Milling
Hal Nobles Robert Smith
Willie Thomas Joe Wells

Chapter 30 has since grown to more than 100 members, including associate members and several Gold Star Family members. See MEMBERS tab for current members.
